At The Session

Shadow Integration is a powerful and experiential process. Because it may feel different from traditional talking therapy, I want you to feel clear, informed, and supported before we begin.

Below you’ll find everything you need to know about how we work together - from your first call to what happens in the room.

Jellyfish Underwater Glow

 A Free 30-Minute Call

Before booking anything, we’ll have a free 30-minute discovery call.

This is available whether you’re considering:

A 5-hour immersive session

A 2-hour introduction shadow integration session

Or ongoing shadow-informed coaching

It’s important that we meet first.

This call is a chance for you to:

Ask questions about the process

Share a little about what’s bringing you here

Get a feel for how I work

See whether you feel safe enough with me to go there

There’s absolutely no pressure to book. I want this to feel like a spacious, grounded place for you to decide if I’m the right person to support you - regardless of how long we might work together. Our relationship matters.

Before Your First Session

If you choose to move forward, you’ll be sent a confidential client form to complete beforehand.

This helps me understand:

Your history and current circumstances

What you’d like to explore

Any mental or physical health considerations

The support you have around you

It allows us to begin safely and with context, rather than starting cold.

Shadow Integration

This is deep experiential work. Instead of only talking about your experiences, we begin to explore the different parts of you that carry emotion, memory, coping strategies, beliefs, and inherited patterns. It’s collaborative. It’s trauma-centric. And you are always in control of the pace.

What Actually Happens in a Session?

People often ask this, which makes complete sense, a 5 hour therapy session is quite unusual. A session usually begins with conversation. We talk about what’s present for you - a pattern, a trigger, a relationship dynamic, or something that keeps repeating in your life. If it feels appropriate, we may invite a specific “part” of you to step forward. When we do this, you physically wrap a different cloth around yourself - almost like a cloak - to help you step into and embody that part more clearly. The physical shift helps the nervous system differentiate between your whole self and the part that’s speaking.

Sometimes simple props are available if they help a part express itself, but they’re never required, they’re just tools. You might move between different cloths as different parts speak. We explore the shifts or interactions that might be helpful - perhaps offering comfort to a vulnerable part, setting boundaries with another, or helping two parts find new understanding. Or you might stay seated and explore verbally. There is no pressure to “bring a part out.” You could use the full five hours simply talking from your whole self. The work unfolds based on what feels safe and useful for you. Nothing is forced.

2-Hour Introduction Session

If you’re curious but unsure about committing to a longer immersive, you can book a 2-hour session.

This is charged at the standard hourly rate and gives us time to:

Explore a specific issue or pattern

Experience how parts work feels

Potentially bring forward one part

It’s a gentle but meaningful introduction to the process

5-Hour Immersive Session

Having extended time means:

We’re not rushing insight

We can move beyond surface patterns

Multiple parts can be explored

There’s space for breaks and integration

Some clients use much of the time in embodied work. Others move between dialogue, reflection, and parts exploration. It’s responsive to you. Because we’re not confined to a 50-minute window, this format can create powerful and lasting shifts.

These immersive sessions can also sit alongside other forms of support. Many clients continue with talking therapy, counselling, EMDR, somatic work, acupuncture, or other healing modalities while doing shadow integration. This work doesn’t replace other approaches - it can deepen and complement them.

Shadow Coaching

Alongside the immersive work, I also offer coaching. This is more conversational and forward-focused.

It’s ideal if you want:

Clarity

Direction

Accountability

Support integrating insights into your everyday life

We may still talk about patterns and parts, but there’s no cloth or embodied work unless you specifically want it. The emphasis is on how you want to move forward and who you’re becoming. Some people work purely in coaching. Others use it to integrate deeper shadow sessions.

After The Session

Especially after immersive work, things can continue unfolding.

You might notice:

Emotional processing

Shifts in how you respond to others

New awareness in relationships

A sense of lightness or clarity

Sometimes, though, it can feel tender before it feels lighter. When we turn toward parts of ourselves that have been pushed away - grief, anger, fear, shame - those feelings can temporarily feel closer to the surface. This doesn’t mean the work has gone wrong. Often, it’s a sign that something previously avoided is finally being met. Shadow Work isn’t about bypassing discomfort. It’s about moving through it with awareness and support, rather than continuing to organise your life around avoiding it. As integration happens, what once felt overwhelming often begins to feel more workable, more understood, and less charged.

I encourage gentle integration afterwards - rest, space, reflection - and reaching out for support if needed. You are not expected to process everything alone. You are never locked into ongoing work. You choose what feels right next.

What Can I
Work On?

The range of issues people bring to this work is wide.

Shadow work is trauma-centric and can support exploration of:

Childhood trauma, abandonment, sexual abuse, boarding school trauma, grief, anger, anxiety, fear, regret, repeating relationship patterns, parenting challenges, workplace blocks or conflict, shame, inner criticism, or identity struggles.

And many others.

If you don’t see what you’re carrying listed here, please reach out. This isn’t an exhaustive list, your experience is unique, and we can talk through whether this work feels appropriate for you.

Shadow work can be just as valuable for those experienced in therapy or other healing modalities as it is for those approaching deep inner work for the first time.

Ready To Begin?

The next step is simply booking your free 30-minute discovery call. We’ll meet. We’ll talk. And you can decide - with no pressure - whether this feels like the right place for you to explore.
